EL PEDRAL LODGE
At El Pedral Lodge you can enjoy direct contact with nature; the aroma of the sea and the singing of seagulls are sensations perceived as soon as you arrive at the lodge. Once the senses are captivated, you cannot help but be astonished by the vast landscapes of the Patagonian Coast, its beaches covered by huge stones, large streams and towering cliffs
LOCATION
It is located in the tip of Punta Ninfas, a natural, unique and exclusive place for watching the whales entering the bay, just a few meters from the main lodge. It is 100 km from Trelew and 75 km from Puerto Madryn.
LODGE AND ROOMS
The main house, built in the 19 th century with its original Norman architecture, and rustic ambiance including period furniture, has one dbl bedroom. A library with books in English Spanish & German invites to submerge in pleasant reading and enjoy the warmth of our fireplace. A guests´house with eight new suites complete the space of this cozy lodge, beginning you to discover new sensations. El Pedral Lodge has 9 rooms. One of them is in the main house and 8 are in the guest's house.
ACTIVITIES AT THE LODGE
- Trekking: Duration of about 2 hours. Circuits are flexible. Barren plain, sea and fauna. You can visit the habitat of the elephant seals.
- Nautical excursions, complemented with fishing
- Fishing * on boat
* From the coast. All of the equipment will be provided.
- Horseback riding on the cliffs
- Diving /Snorkeling. We do not have the equipment. (Equipment must be rented from an outside company)
- Mountain Biking

Traditional Excursions: Punta Tombo, to watch the penguins and visit Puerto Pirámide for whale watching.
PROGRAMS
The 3-night program at the lodge includes (from September to November)
- Transfer to and from Trelew or Puerto Madryn
- 3-night lodging, including breakfast
- Lunches and dinners, including drinks
- A wide variety of activities to explore the immensity of the barren plains and sea, with specially prepared circuits for Trekking, Nautical Excursions, Fishing, Horseback Riding, Sand boarding, Snorkeling and Water Skiing
- Traditional Excursions: Punta Tombo, to watch the penguins and visit Puerto Pirámide for some whale watching.

Day 1. Depending on the arrival time of your flight, we will visit the natural environment of the elephant seals near El Pedral. Duration: 3 hours from departure.
Day 2. Whale watching in Puerto Pirámide. Departure in the morning from Estancia El Pedral, going through the city of Puerto Madryn and continuing on to the small village of Puerto Pirámide, where we embark for whale watching. The route begins going around the coast, and then, one to two miles out to sea to meet the giants. Once there, the engines are turned off and we are ready to enjoy the show offered by nature.
Then, we return to Puerto Madryn, passing the Isla de los Pájaros (Bird Island), Riacho and El Doradillo, where we can watch a large number of whales and their babies very close to the beach. Finally, we will return to the ranch. Duration: 7 hours.
Day 3. Full day at El Pedral. Spend the day fishing from our boat. During which, we are able to watch the sea lions and the whales.
Day 4. Departure to Punta Tombo. On the fourth day, we leave El Pedral in the morning, to visit Rawson, the native environment of penguins. In this fauna reserve, you can walk among these elegant, yet humorous birds and observe their way of life, watch how they guard over their nests and their babies. It is the biggest reserve of Magellanic penguins worldwide. We will then return to the airport of Trelew .
