LOS NOTROS
Los Notros is located in the South West of the province of Santa Cruz, the southernmost province in continental Argentina and part of the mythical region known as Patagonia.
This extensive region, mostly barren plains, is sprinkled with dream lakes and rivers, snow covered mountains, majestic cliffs and fiords, native forests and spectacular millenary glaciers.
Los Notros is the only lodge looking out at the Perito Moreno glacier, girdled by a peerless landscape where only the sounds of nature can be heard.
A privileged witness of this Patagonian paradise, it shares with its guests the essence of its philosophy: enjoying nature in perfect harmony.
No matter where you may find yourself in this cosy lodge, the majesty of the glacier will always be within view thanks to the privileged location of Los Notros and its particularised architectural design.
The fantastic Perito Moreno glacier reigns over the waters of the Lago Argentino, rising an impressive 70 meters, spanning 5 kms and spreading over an area of 257 km2. The lodge is perched on the Peninsula de Magallanes facing this unique natural sight, a landscape that exceeds your imagination.
ROOMS
here are only 32 guestrooms in order to maintain the intimacy and the silence that the landscape offers.
Each of our guestrooms has a distinctive decor: important colours in the walls, wooden ceilings, corduroy curtains and Mapuche rugs.
Guests can appreciate the breathtaking views of the surroundings even while having a bath in their rooms.
PREMIUM ROOMS
Located on: 1st. and 2nd. floors of the hotel main area and only 8 meters away from the public areas.
Accommodation : Single or double rooms.
Distribution of rooms : There are 8 guestrooms on the first floor (4 offering double beds and 4 with twin beds) and other 4 guestrooms with double beds on the second floor.
Bed size: Twin single beds with sommier (0.90 x 1.90 m) and king-size beds with sommier (1.80 x 1.90 m).
Bathroom: Featuring hydromassage with views of the glacier, shower, hairdryer and amenities.
Mini-bar: Complimentary mini-bar in every guestroom.
SUPERIOR ROOMS
Located on: the ground floor of the main area of the hotel and only 8 meters away from the public areas.
Accommodation : Single, double or triple rooms.
Distribution of rooms :There are 4 guestrooms offering double beds and 4 others with twin beds.
Bed size: Twin single beds with sommier (0.90 x 1.90 m) and king-size beds with sommier (1.80 x 1.90 m).
Bathroom: Featuring hydromassage, shower, hairdryer and amenities.
Mini-bar: Available in every guestroom.
CASCADA ROOMS
Located on: Situated 100 meters from the public areas of the hotel. They consist of three two-storey structures with four guestrooms each, two on the ground floor and two others on the first floor. Access to both levels is through stairs and it is therefore not advisable for people with reduced mobility.
Accommodation : Single, double or triple rooms.
Distribution of rooms : There are 6 guestrooms on the ground floor offering twin beds and 6 other guestrooms with double beds on the first floor.
Bed size: Twin beds with sommier (0.90 x 1.90 m) and king-size beds with sommier (1.80 x 1.90 m).
Bathroom: Bath, shower, hairdryer and amenities.
Mini-bar: Available in every guestroom.
RESTAURANT
Our restaurant offers a decoration featuring iron ceiling beams from an old market in Buenos Aires, floors and chairs made of simple wood, iron chandeliers and a peep-through window to appreciate the secrets of our kitchen, all jointly creating a delicate environment with a local touch.
The local and crafty cooking at Los Notros
We feature lamb, duck and trout choices as well as other species from the Southern seas. We also offer the best red meats in Argentina, smokes, terrines, homemade pâtés and our traditional mushroom soup, the typical dish at Los Notros.
Our exquisite and tempting desserts are all elaborated combining homemade chocolates and the widest variety of red fruits. The aromatic herbs and spices used in our dishes are partly grown in the hotel orchard.
LIVING ROOM
Guests will be able to appreciate the majesty of the Perito Moreno glacier from any place of the hostel. The diversity of its decor allows for the pleasure of exploring and discovering every corner of the guesthouse. Its theme library, the talks about glaciology and the playroom are also worth enjoying.
BON APETIT
No matter in what language you think of it or hear it, the result will be the same: "gourmet" at Los Notros is always a celebration of the best tastes of a good meal.
A native cuisine where Patagonian lamb, stag, hare, loin, duck, the exquisite trout, the best Argentine beef, or the fish from the sea sailed by the Pioneers, are combined with smoked cold cuts, terrines and home-made patés, goat cheese and wild mushrooms from the Patagonian forests.
An almost panoramic window affords a view into the kitchen where all these dishes are prepared.
BAR AND HAPPY HOUR
The best beverages in the world and always with the Perito Moreno Glacier in the background. At dusk the lit candles indicate the beginning of the wine tasting; an excellent excuse to share emotions among the guests, an experience enhanced by the diversity of nationalities.
A special place to know the crafted regional or barberry liquors accompanied by snacks including smoked cold cuts, a variety of cheeses, home-made breads and delicatessen especially made for our guests at the inn. You will also find the best whisky, malt, port, cognac and sparkling wines of the world, that you may enjoy with a selection of the best tobaccos.
WINE CELLAR
Enjoy the drinks! We have a wine list that contains the best Argentine wines. Nothing better than a good Syrah or a typical Malbec, a stock that is becoming famous all over the world.
Also, the sommelier of the season 2007/08 at Los Notros, Agustina de Alba, won the sommelier competition.
TEA TIME
The inn offers a wide variety of tea in threads, brews, a variety of black, white and green tea, and the exclusive blends of Los Notros, everything accompanied with various sweet treats, pies, cakes, home-made red fruit jams and bread. There is also a wide variety of salad sandwiches in the afternoon.
