Travel Tips
Foreign currency exchange
The official currency is the nuevo sol, represented by the symbol "S/.". Most business establishments accept dollars at the daily exchange rate. Currency exchange service is available at the cash register in our Reception area 24 hours a day. Additionally, you may exchange dollars and euros at banks.
Climate
The city of Arequipa has a semi-dry, temperate climate, with a mean maximum temperature of 21ºC and a minimum of 7ºC. During the day it is warm and in the evening, the temperature drops. The coldest months are from June to September.
Taxis
It is best to avoid taking a taxi cab on the street; we recommend that you request one at the hotel reception desk. It is not customary to tip the driver.
EVENTS AND INCENTIVES
Conference Rooms
Hotel Libertador Arequipa has four conference rooms, with a capacity of up to 250 persons, a large terrace and personnel with ample experience in assisting with the organization of events, conferences and parties. Additionally, in the hotel's large gardens a special area that can be roofed for the organization of events for up to 1000 persons. Among other important events held here, recently Asia Pacific forum (APEC) meetings were held at the hotel.
GASTRONOMY
Enjoy the culinary diversity of the "White City" in our restaurant Los Robles; some of our dishes are:
- Capresse Salad with lemon juice, chilli, coriander, glazd sweet potatoes and corn.
- Crayfish soup , with chili, huacatay herb, fava bean, corn, pumpkin, rice and cheese.
- Grilled malaya beef with sautéed yellow potatoes, pan fried spinach, onion and chili sauce.
